To:      All Animal Rescues, Shelters, Transporters, and people who help in Cross posting, Networking to find homes for animals in need; Consultants helping in finding the right animal for the right homes. People who do Home Visits for Adoptions.

I am working on a list of Rescues, Shelters, Transports, and anyone who does networking to help  find animals homes by sending emails, etc. This list is not just for the State of Alabama, I want information from everywhere.

Once the list is at a point of calling it finished, which it actually will never be finished due to continuous changes, but once at a point of calling done for the moment I will email copy to all on the list for their use in helping to find homes for animals. It will be posted to my blog and to another site that I work on The Alabama Animal Progressive.

My blog is https://loveallbreeds.wordpress.com and the other site I work on the section Rescues and Adoptions (this is what the list is for in addition to more things to be on this site). http://alabamaanimalprogressive.com.

Information about me and Love All Breeds. We are a Volunteer Rescue and Foster. We started helping find homes for dogs and rescuing them ourselves approximately five years ago when my daughter started working at a Vet Clinic when she was sixteen. She has been with the same Vet Clinic since then and works for Hope Animal Clinic, Dr. David Fuller in Bessemer Alabama, her name is Sarah Lambert and she is a Veterinarian Technician.  Sarah wants to go to school to become a Veterinarian but because we cannot afford it she has not been able to go. Sarah is excellent with animals and especially the dogs the owners say will bite, she just has a way with them. She would be a great Veterinarian.

It is just my daughter, Sarah and myself, currently taking care of 16 dogs. We are not a non-profit yet, I am working on getting my non-profit license. However, I still help in every way I can to rescue and to find homes for animals in need. In addition, I help other rescues in our area, Saving Paws, Hueytown Alabama and Last Chance Dog Rescue, Alabaster, Alabama.  I also have a page on Facebook you can search my name and find it.

I do work full time for a Podiatrist in Birmingham, Alabama. I am the Insurance, Biller, Collector and Coder for them and I have worked at same place, Podiatry Associates, PC for twelve years. I am divorced and my daughter is still at home for now, along with our 16 dogs we currently have. I

basically work my full time job, take care of the dogs we have and work online on this list, blog, website, and networking to find homes for animals in need.

This letter is a request to All Animal Rescues, Shelters, Transporters, and people who help in cross posting, networking to find homes for animals in need; Consultants helping in finding the right animal for the right homes; and People who do Home Visits for Adoptions. I am asking if you would like to be added to this list and to the blog and website to please email me the following information:

Name of Rescue or Shelter, if Breed Specific (what breed) or if not breed specific.

Address if there is one for the Rescue or Shelter, if not just the City and State is fine.

I do need the City and STATE of where the contact person is located for the Rescue, Shelter, Transport, etc.

Phone number or numbers:

Email of contact person or email for Rescue, Shelter, Transport, etc.:

Web address:

Do you Foster?

Information about the Rescue, Shelter, Transport, etc. History, if not for profit, if you are a NO KILL or not, anything you want others to know about what you do.

In addition, if you ever have changes to your information, email address, web address, if the rescue stops working as a rescue, I ask if you would please notify me so I can make the necessary changes.

I want to ask one more thing, I know there are Rescues, Shelters and people we all have come in contact with that rescue animals but may not be the right type of rescue or person that needs to have a dog or cat. Mainly the ones we get bad information about or people who say they help with rescues but actually may sell the animal for bad things, or fighting rings, or just kill them. Please notify me of anyone or any organization that you have or get this type of information, the kind of place or person you would not want your animals to go. I can make note on them if they are on this list on contact sheet and make the necessary changes to take off list or put warnings next to the name.

Thank you all for your information and for your patience. I really want to do this but I do want to get it right so it will take a little time.

Sincerely,

Michelle Lambert

A Dog’s Plea

A Dog’s Plea by Anonymous

Treat me kindly, my beloved friend
for no heart in all the world is
more grateful for kindness than
the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick,
for although I might lick your hand between blows,
your patience and understanding will more quickly
teach me the things you would have me learn.

Speak to me often,
for your voice is the world’s sweetest music,
as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail
when the sound of your footsteps falls
upon my waiting ear.

Please take me inside when it is cold and wet,
for I am a domesticated animal,
no longer accustomed to bitter elements.
I ask no greater glory than the privilege
of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water,
for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.
Feed me clean food that I may stay well,
to romp and play and do your bidding,
to walk by your side and stand ready,
willing and able to protect you with my life.

And, my friend, when I am very old
and I no longer enjoy good health, hearing and sight,
do not make heroic efforts to keep me going.
I am not having any fun.

Please see to it that my life is taken gently.
I shall leave this earth knowing
with the last breath I draw that my
fate was always safest in your hands.
